Jet Fuel Price Rises by Tk 17.06 Per Litre
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of jet fuel again.
Under the new price, jet fuel for domestic flights will cost Tk 182.71 per litre, an increase of Tk 17.06. The previous price was Tk 165.65 per litre.
BERC announced the new price in a notice issued on Wednesday (October 7). It will take effect at midnight and remain in place until further notice.
The commission said the price was set after considering the average international price of Jet A-1 fuel and the dollar exchange rate used by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation to settle import payments.
After several rounds of price cuts, jet fuel prices began rising again in August. Industry experts fear the latest increase could raise airline operating costs and lead to higher fares on domestic routes.
