Formation of Governing Bodies and Managing Committees Suspended
The formation of governing bodies and managing committees at private lower secondary, secondary and higher secondary educational institutions across Bangladesh has been suspended.No new committees may be formed until further notice because the Private Educational Institutions Governing Body and Managing Committee Regulations, 2026 have not yet been finalised.The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee issued the instruction in an urgent notice on Thursday (October 15).
Copies of the notice were sent to the education secretary, the director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the chairpersons of all education boards, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, district education officers, and the heads of all relevant private educational institutions.
