Prime Minister Inspects Mobile Food Safety Laboratory
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inspected a mobile laboratory van used for food safety testing at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 14).
During the visit, he entered the laboratory and observed how food samples are collected and tested. Officials briefed him on the laboratory’s activities and the ongoing efforts to strengthen food monitoring and prevent adulteration across the country.
Mobile laboratories are currently testing and monitoring food samples in eight metropolitan areas. The government plans to gradually expand the service to all 64 districts.
Under a project to strengthen the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, the government is also working to procure 72 mobile laboratory vans during the 2026–27 fiscal year.
Food Minister Afroza Khanam, State Minister for Food Abdul Bari and other senior government officials were present during the inspection.
