Prime Minister Inaugurates July Memorial at Osmani Udyan
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the July Memorial at Osmani Udyan in Dhaka on Monday (October 19), accompanied by family members of those killed during the July mass uprising. He also inaugurated the newly renovated Osmani Udyan.
The prime minister arrived at the venue at 10am. He unveiled the memorial alongside Abu Sayeed’s father, Makbul Hossain; Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho’s father, Mostafizur Rahman; Shahriar Khan Anas’s mother, Sanjida Khan Dipti; and Wasim Akram’s father, Mohammad Shafiul Alam.
Following the inauguration, the prime minister planted a sapling on the memorial premises. He later toured the renovated park and visited its newly established library.
The projects were undertaken to preserve the memory of those killed in the July mass uprising and provide Dhaka residents with a modern, green and accessible public space.
