Bangladesh’s First Cycle Track to Open in Chattogram
Bangladesh’s first dedicated cycle track is set to open in Chattogram, offering residents a safer and more environmentally friendly way to travel while helping reduce traffic congestion and pollution.
The track will be officially opened on Friday (October 9) and will then be available to the public.
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inspected the final preparations and construction work on Thursday.
The cycle track was built as part of the Chattogram Airport Road expansion and infrastructure development project. The project includes a 2.2-kilometre, four-lane road with attractive footpaths on both sides, a central island and a landscaped walkway with a cycle track on one side.
The mayor said the project was designed to provide city residents and tourists with a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly transport system.
