Japan to Recruit Bangladeshi Workers From April 1
Bangladesh and Japan have signed a new employment-related ESDP-MOC agreement, opening fresh opportunities for Bangladeshi workers. Under the agreement, Japan will begin recruiting workers from Bangladesh on April 1, 2027.
The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment announced the agreement on Monday (October 19). According to the ministry, the deal was formally signed on Saturday (October 17), following nearly a year of negotiations between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by the secretary of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and representatives of Japan’s Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and National Police Agency.
The agreement will initially remain in effect for five years. It will then be automatically renewed for another five years, bringing its total duration to 10 years.
The government expects the agreement to create significant employment opportunities and provide greater protection for Bangladeshi workers in Japan.
