Five Flights from Bangladesh Cancelled After Attack on Riyadh Airport
Five flights from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia have been cancelled as Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport remains closed following an attack.
Kawsar Mahmud, assistant director of public relations at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, confirmed the cancellations on Sunday morning (October 11).
The affected services included flights operated by Saudia, Riyadh Air and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Biman’s BG339 flight from Dhaka to Riyadh was among those cancelled.
A US-Bangla Airlines flight was diverted on Saturday after it could not reach its destination. The flight, scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 3:10 pm, eventually landed at 3:10 am.
Biman also suspended its BG339 and BG340 services on the Dhaka–Riyadh–Dhaka route. Passengers booked on these flights were advised not to travel to the airport.
