Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Made OSD After Alleged Attempt to Hug Prime Minister

An order signed by Deputy Secretary Jeti Pru on behalf of the president was issued on Tuesday (October 20). Yousuf Ali was stand-released and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration with immediate effect.

The order was issued on Tuesday night after the prime minister completed his visit to Rajshahi. However, the official notification did not mention any reason for the decision, stating only that it had been issued in the public interest and would take effect immediately.

Sources at the divisional commissioner’s office said Yousuf Ali was instructed to relinquish his duties by 11:00 pm. After receiving the order, he held a brief meeting with officials and handed over responsibility to Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Rezaul Alam Sarker before leaving Rajshahi.

The alleged incident occurred at Hazrat Shah Makhdum Airport while officials were bidding farewell to the prime minister. A video circulating on social media appears to show Yousuf Ali stepping forward and trying to touch the prime minister from behind with his other hand while shaking hands with him.
