Medical Tests for Malaysia-Bound Workers to Begin on October 31
THT Report • October 28, 2026
Medical examinations for Bangladeshi workers seeking jobs in Malaysia will begin on October 31, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment announced in a notice on Wednesday, October 28.The examinations will be conducted at approved medical centres. Any medical tests conducted before that date will not be accepted or processed for immigration clearance.
The ministry said a list of approved medical centres would soon be published on its website and advised workers to follow that list. Centres may be removed from the list, or new ones added, depending on their compliance with official requirements and their capacity to provide the services.
The ministry also said no medical centre or recruiting agency may arrange medical examinations for workers without government instructions and approval.
It has received complaints that some middlemen and dishonest recruiting agencies are trying to collect workers’ passports and money by offering to arrange medical tests without approval.
The ministry warned workers not to hand over their passports or money to anyone without first verifying the necessary approval. It also urged them not to respond to fraudulent offers.
