Government Approves 29 Public Holidays for 2027

The cabinet has approved the public holiday calendar for 2027, setting a total of 29 days off for government employees through general holidays and holidays declared by executive order. Seven of these days fall on Fridays and Saturdays, the weekly holidays.

The calendar was approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Monday, November 2.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani announced the decision to journalists at a briefing held that evening in the Press Information Department’s conference room at the Secretariat. He also presented an overview and breakdown of the approved holidays.
