Gold Prices Fall in Bangladesh

THT Report • October 13, 2026
Gold prices have been reduced in Bangladesh. The price of 22-carat gold has fallen by Tk 3,266 per bhori, or 11.664 grams.
Following the reduction, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk 228,031, including VAT. The new price took effect at 10:00 am on Tuesday (October 13), according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
Prices of all categories of gold have been reduced and will remain in effect until further notice. Customers will still have to pay making charges based on the design of the jewellery.
As VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver jewellery, sellers cannot charge customers VAT separately.
Earlier, on October 9, the price of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk 2,216 per bhori. The latest reduction came only four days after that increase.
